In a move to jointly promote consumer rights and ensure safe food, the Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) and the Bangladesh Safe Agro Food Effort (BSAFE) Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today.
The MoU was signed by CAB President A. H. M. Shafiquzzaman on behalf of CAB and by Anwar Faruq, Acting President of BSAFE Foundation, on behalf of the foundation.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate to ensure quality, safe, and adulteration-free products, monitor product standards, promote accurate labeling, raise public awareness against counterfeit and substandard goods, and undertake joint training and research initiatives. Both organizations expressed hope that this partnership will open new avenues for improving food standards and protecting consumers in Bangladesh.
The signing ceremony was attended by BSAFE Foundation Secretary and CEO Rezaul Karim Siddique, Vice President Ataur Rahman Miton, Treasurer Mahidul Haque Khan, Executive Member Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak, Deputy Director Khaleda Khanam, Program Coordinator Sajjad Latif, CAB Secretary Advocate Humayun Kabir Bhuiya, Executive Member Shawkat Ali Khan, and other officials from CAB.
