The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) has issued an urgent alert, warning the public about a group of fraudsters impersonating officials of the department to solicit money.
According to the department, the impostors have been contacting representatives of various e-commerce platforms, offering to resolve complaints or providing false assurances, and demanding financial benefits in return.
The scams reportedly involve the names of several e-commerce companies, including Utility, QCom, Aleshamart, Aladin-er Prodip, Dalal Plus, Dhamaka Shopping, Anonder Bazar, SirajganjShop, E-Orange, and Presto UK. The department emphasized that none of its officials or employees are involved in such activities.
The Consumer Rights Department clarified that it has no authority to demand money or financial benefits from any individual or organization. Complaint resolutions are conducted without any monetary transactions, and verified complaints are forwarded to the Ministry of Commerce for appropriate action.
The department urged the public to remain vigilant against such fraudulent activities. Citizens are advised to report any individual claiming to represent the department and demanding money to law enforcement agencies or relevant authorities immediately.
The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and increasing public awareness to prevent fraud.
