The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) on Tuesday fined Insaaf Food Products Tk 50,000 during an enforcement drive in the Akraain Bazar area under Birulia Union in Savar.
The drive were led by Assistant Director of DNCRP Muhammad Hasanuzzaman of the Dhaka District office and Assistant Director Rozina Sultana of the Dhaka Divisional office.
They said the action followed findings of multiple violations of consumer rights and food safety regulations at the facility. Inspectors found that the factory was producing “Tank Juice” without complying with specifications approved by the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).

The team also detected irregularities in the production of pickles under different brand names, with the company unable to provide valid documentation for the colours and flavouring agents used in the products.
Following the inspection, DNCRP authorities imposed a fine of Tk 50,000 for breaching consumer protection laws.
During the drive, factory owners were warned to refrain from such practices in future and instructed to ensure proper hygiene and compliance with food safety standards.
In a separate action conducted during the same drive, Jalil Bakery and Confectionery was fined Tk 10,000 for selling prohibited Red Bull energy drinks and for marketing cakes without proper manufacturing and expiry information on packaging.
Local administration and law enforcement agencies assisted in the operation.
The DNCRP said such drives will continue in the interest of public safety and to protect consumers from unsafe and substandard food products.
