Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim produced a fluent century to help his side set a competitive 290/5 in the series-deciding third ODI against Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to field. Bangladesh’s openers gave a solid start, putting together a 100-run partnership, with Tanzid dominating the scoring.

On 94, he launched Salman Agha for a six to reach his maiden international hundred, completing a remarkable innings featuring six sixes and several crisp boundaries. Towhid Hridoy contributed 48 off 44 balls, supporting the innings with brisk scoring, while Afif Hossain added 5.

The middle overs saw Bangladesh consolidate, ensuring wickets were not lost in clusters. Pakistan’s spinners managed to control the scoring rate, making the pitch challenging as it slowed down.

Haris Rauf was expensive initially but returned to claim three crucial wickets, exploiting variations in pace and low-bouncing deliveries.

By the end of the innings, Bangladesh had posted the highest team total of the series on a surface where Pakistan were bowled out for 114 in the first ODI.

While Bangladesh may feel they left some runs on the table, the innings emphasized a balance between consolidation and aggression.

The target of 291 sets up an intriguing chase for Pakistan, with Bangladesh’s top order giving them a solid platform and Tanzid’s maiden ton marking a memorable personal milestone in a high-stakes series finale.
