    Bangladesh defeat India after 22 years

    Bangladesh finally broke a 22-year drought against India, securing a historic win at the very venue where they last defeated their South Asian rivals in 2003 — the Dhaka National Stadium.

    On Tuesday, in their AFC Asian Cup qualifiers match, Bangladesh edged past India 1–0, marking their first victory over the Blue Tigers in more than two decades.

    The decisive moment came in the 12th minute when Sheikh Morsalin found the back of the net, a lead Bangladesh held onto for the remainder of the match. Midfielder Hamza Choudhury delivered a standout performance, dominating the midfield throughout and earning praise for his commanding presence.

    Bangladesh had earlier secured a draw against India in the away fixture on 25 March. With Tuesday’s win, Bangladesh now have five points from five matches in the qualifiers.
