Pakistan has announced a 16-member Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against Bangladesh, scheduled to begin in Dhaka on May 8, featuring four uncapped players and a new red-ball coaching setup.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) included Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori, all set to make their Test debuts.
Fazal is a left-handed opener with PSL experience, while Amad Butt, 30, will make his international debut across formats.
Azan Awais will also be playing his first international match, and Ghazi Ghori, who has played only one ODI against Bangladesh in Mirpur, joins as a wicket-keeper option.In a major coaching change, former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed head coach of the national red-ball team following the departure of Australian coach Jason Gillespie in December.
Sarfaraz previously worked with Pakistan U-19 and Pakistan Shaheens, where he gained recognition for his leadership.
Former fast bowler Umar Gul has been added to the backroom staff as bowling coach for the Bangladesh tour.
During the interim period, Aaqib Javed and Azhar Mahmood jointly managed the side.
Shan Masood will continue to lead the Test side as captain for the series.
