Australia and New Zealand have officially launched the host city and venue selection process for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028, inviting regions across both nations to stake their claim for cricket’s biggest spectacle.
Up to 10 venues will be shortlisted, with the final list set to be confirmed by the end of 2026. The tournament, scheduled for October and November 2028, is poised to be the largest cricket event ever staged in the southern hemisphere.Co-hosted by Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket, the event will feature 20 teams competing in 55 matches, including 40 group-stage fixtures, 12 Super 8 clashes, two semi-finals and a grand final.
Tournament chief Joel Morrison described the event as a global celebration of cricket’s most explosive format, promising a festival that will unite fans worldwide while delivering lasting benefits beyond the boundary.
