Candidates recommended for Primary Assistant Teacher Recruitment–2025 staged a sit-in this morning in front of the National Museum at Shahbagh, demanding immediate issuance of appointment letters.Although the programme was scheduled to begin at 11:00am, protesters gathered earlier and occupied the road, disrupting traffic. The demonstration was ongoing as of filing this report around 1:45pm.

When protesters attempted to march towards the busy Shahbagh intersection, police intercepted them and tried to clear the road, leading to a brief scuffle and heated exchanges.

Masud Alam, deputy commissioner of Ramna Division Police, spoke to the protesters, who conveyed their demands.

The situation later calmed, and demonstrators agreed to continue their programme within police barricades.

“We will not leave the streets until we receive our appointment letters. We will only return home with our appointment letters or our bodies,” said a female protester.
