    Mahin, Imran to lead Titumir College Journalists’ Association

    HM Mahin, staff reporter of Asia Post, and HM Imran Hossain, reporter of Star News, have been elected president and general secretary, respectively, of the Government Titumir College Journalists’ Association for the 2026-27 term.

    The election was held on Tuesday at the association’s office on the college campus in a festive atmosphere. Voting took place from 11:00am to 2:00pm, after which the election commission officially announced the results following vote-counting.

    In the newly elected executive committee, Sabbir Hossain of ATN Bangla was elected vice-president, Abu Sayeed of Global Television joint secretary, and Al Amin of Manabzamin organising secretary.

    Rabbi of Asia Post was elected office secretary; Nahid Hasan of Alokito Bangladesh, publicity and training secretary; and Mohammad Masum Billah Rabbi of Janakantha, finance secretary.

    Md Shafik Mia and Md Mohiuddin were elected as executive members of the committee.

    The principal of Government Titumir College, Prof. Dr Chadruddin Ahmad, served as the chief election commissioner, while the association’s teacher adviser, Ruhul Quddus Mallik, observed the election process.

    The election commission also included Rafiqul Islam Roli, planning editor of Asian Television; noted poet and journalist Fayez Reza; Shahriar Arif, senior reporter at Channel 24; Manik Muntasir, senior reporter at Bangladesh Pratidin; and former association presidents Tawsif Maimun and Shamim Hossain Shishir.

    Outgoing president Saheduzzaman Sakib and general secretary Mamunur Rashid performed duties as election secretaries.

    Established in 2006, the Titumir College Journalists’ Association elects its leadership every year through direct voting by its members.
