A lawyer has issued a formal legal notice to senior government officials, calling for an immediate travel ban on Dr. Muhammad Yunus and his advisory team pending a full-scale investigation into their alleged involvement in systemic failures within the national vaccination program.

Served on Monday (April 6), the notice was directed at the Cabinet Secretary, Health Secretary, and Home Secretary.

Barrister Mohammad Ashraful Islam accuses the interim government advisers of engaging in criminal misconduct by shifting control of the state vaccination system, including campaigns for measles, to the private sector.

He links this administrative change to a recent nationwide outbreak that has resulted in over 100 child deaths and thousands of hospitalizations.
The legal filing names Dr. Yunus along with every member of his special assistant team and cabinet of advisers. It specifically includes Dr. Asif Nazrul, Syed Rizwana Hasan, Adilur Rahman Khan Shubho, Nurjahan Begam, Brigadier Sakawat Hossain, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, and Mustafa Sarwar Faruki. The complaint also extends to the former Presidential Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam and all relevant personal assistants involved in decision-making during their tenure.

The notice stipulates that an inquiry committee must be formed within five days of delivery. Furthermore, it mandates that all named individuals be prohibited from leaving the country until the investigation is fully concluded.

The lawyer stated in the document that failure to comply with these demands would necessitate further legal proceedings to enforce accountability.
