Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Md Shafiqur Rahman has been arrested over allegations of abusing a domestic worker.
Police apprehended him from his residence in the capital’s Uttara Sector-9 area on Sunday night.
Uttara west police station Officer-in-Charge Kazi Rafique Ahmed said the Biman MD has been sent to court in a case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
According to police, the victim’s family filed the case with the police station, leading to the arrest.
On 4 September 2024, Biman appointed Shafiqur as its new MD and CEO.
