The Bangladesh Aviation and Tourism Journalists Association (BATJA) has formed an 11-member executive committee for the 2026–2027 term, electing Alimuzzaman Safwan as president and Emon Chowdhury as general secretary.
The committee was elected unanimously at a meeting held in Dhaka on Monday.
BATJA said the new committee will work to strengthen professional standards in aviation and tourism journalism through training, research, improved access to information and closer coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Newly elected President Safwan said the association would promote objective and responsible journalism to support the growth of Bangladesh’s aviation and tourism sectors. General Secretary Emon Chowdhury said the committee would focus on capacity building and making BATJA a more active and professional organisation.
