Dinajpur police have arrested a man on suspicion of killing his wife after her body was discovered in the Fakirpara area of the city on Saturday night (November 15). The deceased has been identified as Sathi, 25. Authorities suspect she was strangled to death.
Sathi and her husband, Mostakim Rahman, 35, were residents of Kahalu Upazila and lived in a rented apartment in Fakirpara. The couple has an eight-year-old daughter.
According to Additional Police Superintendent of Dinajpur Sadar Circle Md. Abdul Halim, police received a call around 8:00 pm about a woman being killed in Fakirpara. Officers recovered Sathi’s body at the scene, noting marks on her neck, suggesting she was strangled.
Mostakim Rahman has been taken into custody as a suspect. The case has not yet been officially registered at Kotwali Police Station. Sathi’s body has been sent to Dinajpur Medical College for autopsy.
