Eight more people died from dengue in the 24 hours till 8am on Sunday morning, taking the total death toll in October to 174.
The year’s total death toll has hit 427 with infections and deaths surging significantly since September.
October is now the deadliest month for dengue patients this year, followed by September with 148 deaths, and August with 43 deaths.
During 8am Saturday-8am Sunday, 1,929 people were hospitalised with dengue, raising the year’s total caseload to 1,36,929. Among the patients, 1,30,388 have returned home following recovery.
