Stating that no movement succeeds without cultural wings, BNP acting secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said a particular song can create larger waves than a Tsunami in a society or a country.
“An artist’s power can be more dangerous than an atom bomb, which can unseat autocracy,” Rizvi added.
Rizvi made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the unveiling ceremony of a musical CD at the capital’s Shilpakala Academy on Monday.
The event was organised by Jatiotabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS).
Rizvi said, “The main forces in every independence struggle and democratic revolutions are the cultural wings. If they remain disorganised, the movements fail.”
The event was presided over by Joint Convener of JASAS and musician Ithun Babu. Other members from BNP and its affiliated organisations were present at the event.
