Md Hasibur Rahman, a senior officer of Sonali Bank PLC and a social worker, has been elected president of the Ad Hoc Managing Committee of Kumri-Talbaria-Mauli (KTM) Secondary School in Lohagara upazila of Narail.
Rahman, who serves as a Senior Officer (IT) at Sonali Bank’s Narail branch, is the youngest of four sons of Md Aktar Hossain, a surveyor and resident of Talbaria village in Lohagara.
An accomplished academic, Rahman holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English Literature. He also completed a master’s degree in Japanese Studies at the University of Dhaka, along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), a banking diploma and several professional training programmes at home and abroad.
Alongside his banking career, Rahman has been involved in education and social welfare activities. He is a member of the governing body of Nabaganga Degree College, president of Matrichhaya Pre-Cadet School and treasurer of The Credit Cooperative Union, Lohagara.
His appointment as president of KTM Secondary School’s Ad Hoc Managing Committee has been welcomed by teachers, guardians and local residents.
They expressed hope that Rahman’s professional experience, commitment to education and involvement in community welfare would help improve the school’s academic environment and contribute to its overall development.
