Three children were killed after a landslide buried a madrasa in the Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar amid heavy monsoon rains. Rescue operations are continuing.
The identities and ages of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.The incident took place at a madrasa in Sub-block A/3 of Camp-5 in Ukhiya when a hillside collapsed onto the building at around 2:00pm today, Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan said.
“So far, the bodies of three children have been recovered. Rescue efforts are continuing to locate and rescue the remaining victims,” he added.
