At a time when rising oil prices are putting pressure on ordinary consumers, a young man in Narail has drawn widespread attention by offering up to 2 to 5 litres of oil for just Tk 10.

The unusual initiative has been launched by Rustam Ali Nayeem, popularly known as ‘Nayeem Bhai’ on social media. His videos showing the initiative have recently gone viral, leaving many netizens surprised and curious about how he is able to provide oil at such a low price.

According to Nayeem, the initiative is aimed primarily at helping low-income people, particularly van pullers, day labourers and others who struggle to manage their daily expenses.

He says his goal is not to make a profit, but to bring some relief to people who work hard every day to support their families.

“What matters most to me is being able to stand beside people who need help. If I can make their lives a little easier, that itself is a great achievement for me,” Nayeem said.

He claims that he is financing the initiative with his own money and is not receiving financial support from any particular individual or organisation.
Nayeem also hopes to expand the initiative in the future. If his financial capacity increases, he plans to provide other essential commodities, including rice, lentils and cooking oil, to people from low-income families at affordable prices.

His initiative has received a mixed but largely positive response online. While many people expressed surprise at the unusually low price, others praised Nayeem for attempting to help disadvantaged people through his own efforts.

Nayeem says he wants to continue serving people and hopes his small initiative will inspire others to come forward and help those in need.

Though the financial value of his initiative may seem small, its impact on the people receiving the support could be significant. Narail has drawn widespread attention by offering up to 2 to 5 litres of oil for just Tk 10.
