Zahir Uddin Swapon has been appointed as the Prime Minister’s Political Adviser with the rank of a minister.
The appointment was announced in a gazette notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani today.
The notification said the Prime Minister made the appointment and assigned the responsibilities in accordance with Rules 3B(1) and 3B(2) of the Rules of Business, 1996.
It further said that while serving as the Prime Minister’s Political Adviser, he will be entitled to the rank, pay and allowances and other facilities of a minister.
The notification said the order would take effect immediately.
Following his appointment as the Prime Minister’s Political Adviser, Zahir Uddin Swapon expressed his heartfelt greetings and gratitude to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
