The registration process for Hajj pilgrims from Bangladesh for 2026 has been officially completed. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced that a total of 78,500 Bangladeshis will have the opportunity to perform Hajj in the upcoming season.
The announcement came on Sunday (November 16) in a press release signed by the Ministry’s Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Tofikul Islam.
Registered pilgrims can now verify their information using their passport numbers through the official Hajj portal (hajj.gov.bd). A dedicated Hajj call center (16136) has also been set up to provide information and assist with registration verification.
The Ministry stated that following the completion of registration, information regarding Hajj packages, training, and other preparatory arrangements will be shared in phases.
This year, Saudi authorities allocated 127,198 Hajj slots to Bangladesh, but only 87,100 pilgrims registered to participate. For 2026, the number of slots has been reduced by 48,698 compared to this year. In 2024, around 33 percent of the quota remained unfilled due to rising costs, with 85,257 Bangladeshis performing Hajj.
According to the roadmap issued by the Saudi government, the registration period was originally set to end on October 12 but was extended by four days.
For those participating through private arrangements, the Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) announced three Hajj packages. The premium package, which includes meals and Qurbani arrangements, is priced at BDT 750,000. The general package costs BDT 550,000, and the budget-friendly package is set at BDT 510,000.
Under the government-arranged system, three packages have also been announced: Package-1 at BDT 690,597, Package-2 at BDT 558,881, and Package-3 at BDT 467,167. Additionally, a “Private General Hajj Package” has been set at BDT 509,185.
Depending on the sighting of the moon, Hajj in 2026 is expected to commence on May 26.
