Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon today urged all not to commercialise or exploit the spirit of the July sacrifice, saying the enduring spirit of the Liberation War is embodied in the spirit of July’s sacrifice.
“The enduring spirit of the War of Independence is inherent in the spirit of the July sacrifice, and no one should forget the contribution of the Liberation War to Bangladesh’s political development,” he said.
The minister made the remarks while presiding over a publication unveiling ceremony, photo exhibition and discussion marking July Martyrs’ Day 2026 at the DFP Auditorium here.
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir attended the programme as the chief guest.
