Residents of Dhaka-15 highlighted a wide range of longstanding issues, including shortages of water and gas, inadequate drainage, waterlogging and dilapidated roads during a visit by the Leader of the Opposition Shafiqur Rahman and State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam today.

During the visit, they assessed longstanding civic problems and exchanged views with the locals. Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Khan was also present.

The daylong programme began with a meeting with residents at Poshchim Shewrapara.

Locals raised concerns over the illegal occupation of markets, traffic congestion, drug abuse, juvenile gangs and high fees at local educational institutions.
