Bangladeshi consumer goods manufacturer and exporter Remark HB Limited has joined Alibaba.com as a verified supplier, opening up new opportunities to reach international buyers through one of the world’s largest business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce platforms.
The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Skytech Beyond Limited, Alibaba’s local agent in Bangladesh, to facilitate the listing and international marketing of its products and manufacturing-related services on the platform.
The agreement was signed on Monday (November 2) at Remark’s corporate office in Gulshan, Dhaka. Shuvo Kumar Saha, additional operative director of Remark’s International Business Unit, and Ridwan Ahmed, chief operating officer of Skytech Beyond, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Initially, more than 1,000 products from Remark’s portfolio of brands, including Lily, Neor, Seodil, Skinmint, Orix, Sunbit, Aknol and Little One, are being prepared for listing on Alibaba.com.
The product range includes skincare, personal care, colour cosmetics, haircare, homecare and babycare items. The company plans to expand its product listings gradually.
Beyond finished goods, the initiative will also allow international buyers to source customised packaging, moulds, various types of machinery and other manufacturing-related services from Remark. Both retail and wholesale orders will be facilitated through the platform.
Ridwan Ahmed said the partnership would help Remark expand its business network beyond finished products and connect with international buyers in the manufacturing and packaging industries.
“Companies interested in manufacturing cosmetics, skincare and personal care products under their own brands, as well as those seeking customised packaging and related industrial services, will be able to connect with Remark through Alibaba,” he said.
Faisal Mahmud Dolon, operations manager of Skytech Beyond, said listing Remark’s products on the global B2B platform would create new opportunities to showcase Bangladeshi products to international buyers and establish business connections worldwide.
He said the initiative would place particular emphasis on technological integration, product management and maintaining international standards to ensure effective operations.
Ariful Islam, head of corporate affairs at Remark, said the company aimed to strengthen its international presence by leveraging Alibaba’s global reach.
“We believe the platform will play an important role in delivering internationally competitive products to consumers across different countries and building long-term business relationships,” he said.
Ariful Islam, head of corporate affairs at Remark, Joyanta Sarkar, head of Remark Super Pack Channel, and other officials from both organisations were also present at the signing ceremony.
