Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the grave of Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, a lifelong fighter for the rights of the oppressed, at Santosh in Tangail on Tuesday afternoon.
He also offered prayers beside the grave.After paying his respects, the prime minister joined a public rally and cultural programme marking the celebration of Bangla New Year 1433 at the request of the students of Maulana Bhashani Science and Technology University.
Earlier in the day, Tarique inaugurated the distribution of ‘Farmer Cards’ in 10 districts across the country in the pre-piloting phase.
He digitally launched the programme by pressing a button on a laptop at 12:22pm at the inaugural ceremony held at Shaheed Maruf Stadium in Tangail Sadar upazila.
