Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has emphasized that the support of the military is crucial to ensure that the upcoming national election is peaceful, festive, and enjoyable for all citizens.
He made the remarks on Wednesday while delivering a speech as the chief guest at the Course–2025 graduation certificate distribution ceremony at the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) auditorium in Mirpur.
“Citizens have long awaited this election, and to hold it as a truly peaceful and joyous event, we sincerely seek the cooperation of our armed forces,” he said.
Recalling the military’s role during the July mass uprising, he added, “The armed forces took the right decisions at the right time, and for this, I highly appreciate their contribution.”
This year’s course saw participation from 311 young military officers from 24 countries, including Bangladesh, China, India, Turkey, and Pakistan. Dr. Yunus expressed confidence that the officers completing the course will be able to apply their knowledge both personally and professionally, and play a crucial role in navigating the country through any critical situation.
The event was attended by government advisers, the Cabinet Secretary, and the heads of the three armed forces, among others.
