Six children died from measles and similar symptoms and 1,186 new suspected infections were reported across the country in 24 hours till 8am Tuesday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the deaths, two were confirmed as measles while four were classified as suspected cases.
The suspected deaths were reported in Dhaka and Sylhet divisions.
With the latest fatalities, the total number of confirmed measles deaths has risen to 54, while suspected deaths have reached 263 since March 15.
During the same period, 259 new confirmed measles cases were recorded, raising the total number of confirmed infections to 5,726.
DGHS data showed that the total number of suspected cases has climbed to 42,979 since March 15.
A total of 29,831 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized during the period, of whom 26,368 have recovered.
