Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has emphasized that the police and other law enforcement agencies must earn public trust in order to swiftly meet citizens’ expectations.

”After nearly a decade and a half, a political government has been formed through a transparent election. The public has high expectations from us. To fulfill those expectations, we aim to quickly implement our election manifesto,” the minister made the remarks during a view-exchange meeting with the heads of various departments and organizations under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Salahuddin Ahmed added that democratic reforms in the police and other law enforcement agencies should be guided by public expectations, with priorities determined accordingly.

”To achieve this goal, we need to recruit the necessary manpower. Budget approval from the Ministry of Finance is also an important issue. With new recruitment and coordinated efforts from everyone, we aim to accomplish our objectives.”The minister stressed the need for a comprehensive and timely development plan for police and other law enforcement agencies.
