The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced another increase in gold prices just one day after the previous hike.
The price has been raised by up to Tk3,324 per bhori (11.664 grams), pushing the price of 22-carat gold above Tk277,000 per bhori. Yesterday, the price stood at Tk274,104.BAJUS disclosed the new rates in a statement on Tuesday, saying the revised prices came into effect from 10:30am.
The association said the increase in the price of pure gold (acid gold) in the local market led to the adjustment.
Under the new rates, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 277,428.
The prices for other categories are:
• 21-carat gold: Tk 264,773 per bhori
• 18-carat gold: Tk 226,981 per bhori
• Traditional method gold: Tk 185,749 per bhori
Silver prices have also been increased:
• 22-carat silver: Tk 7,713 per bhori
• 21-carat silver: Tk 6,882 per bhori
• 18-carat silver: Tk 5,890 per bhori
• Traditional method silver: Tk 4,432 per bhori
