The gold prices jumped again in the local market on Monday. The new prices came into effect at 10am the same day.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams), setting the new rate at Tk223,074 per bhori, inclusive of VAT. The association issued a press release in this regard this morning.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made due to an increase in the price of refined gold (tejabi sona) in the local market, which prompted a revision of rates including VAT.
Under the revised structure, 21-carat gold is now priced at Tk213,043 per bhori, while 18-carat gold stands at Tk182,950 per bhori. Traditional gold has been set at Tk149,474 per bhori.
