The Election Commission (EC) has directed authorities to ensure that all polling stations remain smoke-free during voting hours for the February 12 referendum and the 13th National Parliament election.
In a letter sent to all returning officers, the EC instructed them to take necessary steps to implement the decisionThe letter, signed by Md Shahidul Islam, senior assistant secretary of the EC Secretariat, said the commission has decided to declare polling stations smoke-free during the voting period and asked officials concerned to take appropriate measures accordingly.
