    Earthquake jolts Dhaka again

    An earthquake was felt in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon. The exact magnitude of the tremor was not immediately known.

    According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s Earthquake Monitoring Centre, the tremor was recorded at 4:15:47pm. Rubaiyat Kabir, the centre’s acting official, confirmed the development.

    He said an earthquake was felt in the capital, adding that the Met Office was assessing the data to determine its magnitude.

    Meanwhile, India’s National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported that the quake measured 3.6 on the Richter scale, with its epicentre 10 kilometres below the surface.

    Dhaka and its surrounding areas experienced four earthquakes on November 22 and 23, three of which originated in Narsingdi and one in Dhaka. Of these, one occurred on Friday (November 21) and three on Saturday (November 22).
