Speaking at a media briefing, Dr Zahed indicated that fares for air-conditioned buses could rise in two to three tiers.
He also noted that more than 170,000 fuel passes have already been registered.
The adviser further said the government is planning to celebrate Pahela Baishakh on a regional scale starting next year. Bangladesh is in holding meeting with neighboring countries including India, Bhutan, and Myanmar to coordinate the initiative.
He urged people to accept that global crises will increase the cost of living.
