Former Adviser and Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) spokeperson Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has posted a brief statement on Facebook regarding the July Charter which later went viral on social media.
Around 12midnight on Wednesday, he wrote ”July Charter Non-negotiable.”
Despite being only four words long, the status gained widespread attention online. Within an hour, the post received nearly 25,000 reactions and drew more than 1,000 comments from different users.
In another Facebook post, Asif Mahmud also outlined three demands from the public directed at newly elected Members of Parliament ahead of the first session of Jatiya Sangsad scheduled for Thursday.
The demands include:
●Lawmakers must take an oath for the Constitutional Reform Council and implement reforms in accordance with the results of a referendum.
●The President must be impeached.
●Justice must be ensured for the July massacre.
