A court in Chattogram sentenced a child rape suspect to lifelong imprisonment on Wednesday, almost 26 days after the case was filed.
Manir Hossain, 30, also has to pay Tk50,000 fine or spend one year in prison in default for raping a four-year-old girl in the port city’s Bakalia area last month.
Judge Syeda Hafsa Jhuma passed the sentence against the lone suspect at the Chattogram Metropolitan Child Repression Prevention Tribunal.
