Opposition Leader and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman today said Allah knows best who played what role during the 1971 Liberation War.“Allah Almighty is the only perfect and complete witness. The rest of us are partial witnesses, but Allah alone is the complete witness,” he said.The National Freedom Fighters Council (Amendment) Bill 2026 was passed in the parliament by voice vote today. Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan presented the bill in the House. Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed asked if anyone had any objection to the bill.
At this point, the opposition leader said, “Our region has gained independence twice — once in 1947, and then again after 23 years through the Liberation War. I pay deep respect to all those who fought bravely for the country and the nation during the great Liberation War.”
