Dilara Hafiz, wife of Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, passed away while undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital at 1:29pm (local time in Singapore) on Saturday. Inna Lillahi Wainna Ilaihi Raji’un.
Dilara Hafiz, 78, is survived by her husband, a son and a daughter, her grandchildren, and a large circle of admirers and well-wishers. Her body will be brought back to Bangladesh on Sunday evening.The first namaz-e-janaza (funeral prayer) will be held on 30 March at 11:00am at the South Plaza of the National Parliament.
Later, another funeral prayer will be held after Zuhr at the Central Mosque in the Cantonment, followed by burial at the Banani Military Cemetery.
