The government has appointed two officials from the information cadre as deputy press secretary and assistant press secretary to the president.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday, Deputy Chief Information Officer Mullah Ahmad Kutubuddin of the Department of Information has been appointed as deputy press secretary to the President on deputation. His services have been placed under the President’s Office for the assignment.In the same order, Senior Information Officer SM Rahat Hasnat of the Department of Information has been appointed as assistant press secretary to the President, also on deputation.
Meanwhile, Md Sarwar Alam is currently serving as secretary to the President with the rank of a senior secretary.With these appointments, two new officials have been added to the President’s Press Wing. Following the fall of the Awami League government during the mass uprising, the interim administration had removed all officials from the President’s Press Wing.
After the formation of the BNP-led government, President Mohammed Shahabuddin reappointed Sarwar Alam as press secretary.
