Although there were some difficulties getting tickets online, people traveling home from Dhaka by train for Eid are leaving with smiles this year without major suffering. Passengers have expressed relief as trains are departing on schedule.
A visit to Kamalapur Railway Station on Monday (16 March) showed a huge crowd of people returning home to their families. However, strict discipline was maintained at the station; everyone’s ticket is being checked before allowing entry to the platform. Railway authorities are not allowing anyone without a ticket to enter unless there is a special reason.
