    No disagreement over building a self-reliant Bangladesh: PM tells Parliament

    Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday said there should be no disagreement over building a self-reliant Bangladesh, urging cooperation from all political groups to achieve the goal.

    The prime minister began his speech shortly before 11:15am, following the recitation from the Holy Quran, during the first session of the Jatiya Sangsad.In his remarks, Tarique Rahman paid tribute to all martyrs of the movements and struggles since the Bangladesh Liberation War. He also expressed deep respect for Khaleda Zia, saying the BNP chairperson fought for democracy until the last days of her life and never compromised with autocracy or fascism.

    The prime minister also paid homage to former president Ziaur Rahman.

    Tarique Rahman said he represents the people of the country regardless of political affiliation and emphasized that the goal of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party is to make every family self-reliant.

    “If every family becomes self-reliant, Bangladesh will become self-reliant,” he said, adding that the party aims to build such a nation with the cooperation of all. “There should be no disagreement over building a self-reliant Bangladesh,” the prime minister told parliament.
