Bangladesh’s Minister for Religious Affairs and BNP Vice-Chairman Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad has urged citizens to offer prayers for the country’s guidance and governance.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the moon sighting committee on Wednesday, Kaikobad said he prefers to be called “Kaikobad” rather than “Honourable Minister.” “When you call me minister, it feels a bit formal. I am a servant of the people. The prime minister appointed me to work for the people, and that is my priority,” he said.
The minister also called on Bangladesh’s Muslim community to observe the upcoming holy month of Ramadan with devotion. “I appeal to everyone to offer two rak‘ah prayers and pray that Allah grants us guidance, understanding, and the ability to run the country according to His commands,” he said.
