    Tarique visits Jamaat ameer’s residence

    BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman on Sunday evening, conveying a message of political harmony and constructive politics.

    The meeting comes just two days before the formation of the next government by the BNP, led by Tarique, following a landslide victory in the 12 February election.

    Tarique reached the Jamaat chief’s residence in the capital’s Bashundhara Residential Area around 7:10pm.

    BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan accompanied the party chief, while Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher and Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer were also present.

    Tarique is also scheduled to meet National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam at his residence in the capital’s Bailey Road area around 8pm.
