Jamaat-e-Islami has requested the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to make necessary arrangement for telecasting the party chief’s election address through BTV at 9pm on 9 February.
The party sent an application in this regard to CEC AMM Nasir Uddin on Tuesday, the party said in a press release on Wednesday.
In the press release, the Islamist party says that as a responsible political group, it is committed to meeting people’s aspirations and hopes in the general elections and referendum, scheduled to be held on 12 February.
To this end, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman will deliver “an important speech” to the nation around 9pm on 9 February.
The CEC has already been requested to provide a slot at BTV and Bangladesh Betar for airing the message.
