BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia will be laid to rest with full state honours, Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid has said.
He made the announcement while speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday (December 30) after an emergency meeting of the Advisory Council.
The cabinet secretary said Khaleda Zia will be buried at Zia Udyan, located adjacent to the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban complex, beside the grave of her husband, the late president Ziaur Rahman.
He also said her namaz-e-janaza will be held on Wednesday (December 31) after Zuhr prayers at the Sangsad Plaza. The body will remain at Evercare Hospital today, and will be taken to the Parliament complex on Wednesday morning for the funeral rites.
