BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that party Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health condition remains stable. She is receiving regular treatment under the close supervision of her doctors.
Speaking to reporters on Monday (1 December) at 3:30 pm, Mirza Fakhrul emphasised that recent reports in various media outlets about her health are inaccurate. “Khaleda Zia’s condition is stable. There is no reason for anyone to be misled,” he said, calling on the nation and party leaders to pray for her speedy recovery.
In a separate press release, the BNP requested that the media rely solely on statements from Khaleda Zia’s personal physician and standing committee member Prof Dr AZM Zahid Hossain regarding her health, and refrain from citing any other sources.
Earlier, at a prayer gathering in Nayapaltan, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that Khaleda Zia’s treatment at Evercare Hospital is continuing as before, and she has requested prayers from everyone.
Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP media cell, also confirmed that the party will provide timely updates on Khaleda Zia’s latest health status to the media.
