    7 die from dengue, 567 hospitalized

    At least seven people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours (from 8 am Wednesday to 8 am Thursday), while 567 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, according to a press release from the Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (November 27).

    The breakdown of new hospitalizations over the last day is as follows: Barishal division – 69, Chattogram – 86, Dhaka division (outside city corporations) – 92, Dhaka North City – 125, Dhaka South City – 86, Khulna division (outside city corporation) – 41, Mymensingh – 37, Rajshahi – 25, Rangpur – 2, and Sylhet – 4.

    Meanwhile, 588 dengue patients were discharged in the same period, bringing the total number of patients discharged this year to 90,219.

    Since January 2025, a total of 92,784 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals, and 377 people have died from the disease this year.

    For context, in 2024, 101,214 patients were hospitalized due to dengue, with 575 deaths recorded. In 2023, dengue claimed 1,705 lives, with 321,179 people hospitalized nationwide.

    The DGHS continues to urge the public to maintain mosquito control measures and take precautions to prevent further infections.
