    Dismembered body found in 2 drums near national eidgah

    The dismembered body of an unidentified man was discovered in two drums near the National Eidgah in the capital. Police cordoned off the area after receiving the report.

    On Thursday (November 13) at around 6:00 pm, police opened the drums and recovered the body.

    Shahbagh Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalid Mansur confirmed the incident.

    According to on-site reports, a foul smell emanated from the drums. The body parts were wrapped in black polythene inside two blue drums, which also contained rice.

    Shahadat Hossain, who helped open the drums, said, “When police asked me to open the drums, I did so. Upon opening both drums, I found multiple dismembered parts of a single body.”

    OC Khalid Mansur added that senior police officials had visited the scene and an investigation is underway.

    Police suspect the killing took place a few days ago, after which the perpetrators placed the dismembered body in the drums.

    The body was dismembered from the neck down to the legs. The victim had a beard, and his age is estimated to be between 40 and 45 years. His identity is yet to be determined.
