    Humanity awaits at Benapole border

Benapole—a border town where mornings begin with anxious prayers: Will the visa be granted today? The complex Indian visa process has brought many lives to a standstill. Basic needs—livelihood, healthcare, education—now seem trapped within a single sheet of paper.

The exhaustion is visible in the eyes of those standing at the border. Some return empty-handed, while others wait for days near hotels, bus stands, or under temporary shelters, clinging to hope. This town is no longer crowded just with passport holders; it is filled with uncertainty itself.

Amid political tensions between the two countries, ordinary lives have become isolated. Those traveling to India for medical treatment now face harassment instead of healthcare. Businesses that once thrived along the border are now shuttered day after day.

This is not merely a bureaucratic issue; it is a humanitarian crisis. The border now divides not just the map but also hearts.

If this situation persists, Benapole will suffer not only economically but also socially. What is needed is more humane, more empathetic decision-making.
