Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan visited his parliamentary constituency in Palash here today, calling for building a humane and peaceful society by following the ideals of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
At the beginning of his visit, he paid homage at the graves of his late father, BNP founding member and former minister Abdul Momen Khan and mother Khorsheda Begum.
He also offered prayers seeking eternal peace for their departed souls.
Later, the minister attended a doa and discussion organised at the Palash Upazila Parishad Auditorium on the occasion of holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH).
Speaking at the programme, the minister said the life and ideals of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) are worthy of being followed by all humanity.
He said the Prophet’s teachings were those of peace, justice, humanity and harmony.
He urged all to shun divisions and hatred and build a humane and peaceful society by following the ideals of the Holy Prophet.
Local public representatives, political leaders and activists, Islamic scholars and people from various walks of life attended the programme.
Later, a special doa was offered seeking peace, prosperity and welfare of the country and its people.
