Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman said on Friday that nearly 70% of the country’s development budget is implemented through engineers.
Therefore, he said, besides being smart, the engineering community must uphold integrity and justice to contribute effectively to nation-building.Shafiqur, also the leader of the opposition in parliament, made the remarks while addressing the “Activists’ Training Camp-2026” as the chief guest in the capital.
The Dhaka north unit Forum of Engineers and Architects, Bangladesh (FEAB), organised the event in Mirpur.
The Jamaat leader said, “We must develop skilled human resources and promote the widespread growth of electromechanical and agro-based industries in the country. Honest, competent and patriotic engineers must play a leading role in achieving this goal.”
