At least five more people have died from dengue fever in the last 24 hours, while 792 patients were admitted to hospitals across Bangladesh, the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room (HEOC) said on Saturday (November 15).
With the latest deaths, the total number of dengue fatalities this year rises to 331, while the number of confirmed cases has reached 83,858.
According to the health department, of the newly admitted patients, Barishal Division recorded 125, Chattogram 136, Dhaka Division 108, Dhaka North City Corporation 226, Dhaka South City Corporation 121, Khulna Division 15, Mymensingh Division 60, and Sylhet Division 2.
All five deaths occurred in Dhaka North City Corporation hospitals. During the same period, 783 dengue patients were discharged, bringing the total number of patients released from hospitals this year to 80,243.
The dengue outbreak in 2025 is comparatively lower than in previous years. In 2024, a total of 101,214 people were infected and 575 deaths were reported, while in 2023, the country saw 1,705 deaths and 321,179 hospitalizations due to dengue.
The health authorities continue to monitor the situation and urge citizens to take preventive measures against mosquito bites.
